Cowboy Chili with Beans

Chili is like opinions everyone has one(recipe that is) This award winning chili was featured on a Food Network contest sponsored by Tabasco brand hot sauce

1 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon chili powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 (15-ounce) can chili beans
2 tablespoons Tabasco brand Green Pepper Sauce
Cook meat in a large skillet over medium heat until brown, about 5 minutes, stirring to break into smaller pieces. Add onion and garlic and cook until tender, about 5 minutes, stirring often. Drain off excess fat, if any. Stir in tomato sauce, water, chili powder and salt and mix well. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes longer or until most of liquid has evaporated. Stir in chili beans and brand Green Pepper Sauce and heat through

Makes 4 servings
